Who am I?

“Oh stranger, who are you?
You’re not the same girl that I knew.
How will I survive and learn to live…
With a stranger in my skin?”

Christine Dente, “Stranger in My Skin”

Hello! I am a 29-year-old, almost former grad student, who has just discovered that what I wanted wasn’t want I wanted.

So, I’m sharing with you, my journey of discovery. That includes my pains and of finishing my disastrous thesis, and the journey of trying to become a mother. I will talk about my struggles with anxiety and depression, and how I’m moving on from my past. My favorite pastime is reading, and I will share my thoughts with you on the latest books I read. I am exploring my talents as a writer and looking for the answer to the age-old question, “What do I want to be when I grow up.”

I’m 29, and I’m not a grown up yet.

58! Still not grown up yet. Adult possibly, gown up not – because I still have a lot of growing to do.

My daughter was teased at school because she was ‘childish’. Her retort was always that as neither her mother nor grandmother were grown up yet she felt under no pressure to do so.

Hi from one of the Awkward Army
