“Ally.” Peeta says the words slowly, tasting it. “Friend. Lover. Victor. Enemy. Fiancee. Target. Mutt. Neighbor. Hunter. Tribute. Ally. I’ll add it to the list of words I use to try to figure you out. The problem is, I can’t tell what’s real anymore, and what’s made up.”
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
I love my Urban Fantasy and Paranormal world. I love reading it, I love watching it, and I love creating it. Today, I was discussing such creatures with one of my best friends, and I began listing different categories for what I think the creatures come from (or most of them anyways, there are always exceptions). I thought there would be some list line, but there is not much out there. In one of my online book groups, Karen Chance Fans, we have talked about the different types, also, but I don’t remember if we came up with a solid list or not. (BTW, this is the best online book club ever. I love the discussions we have, and everyone is so cordial! I Plus, the group is not only awesome, but Karen Chances’ books are awesome. Read the Cassie Palmer or the Dory Basarab series!!).
My Supernatural List is a list I personally made of the major supernatural categories, the creatures that fall underneath that, and some of my favorite examples of that creature. I also included some of my notes. This is an ever changing document as groupings shift and I read more and more books. I would love your input! How would you do things differently? Who do you think belongs in these categories that are not there yet?
